The Sultanate is classified as one of the safest countries to travel and live in. The Sultanate has ranked among the world’s advanced positions in several classifications, the most important of which is the classification of the World Economic Forum (WEF), which ranked it fourth in the world in the safest countries in 2018 out of 136 countries, the Competitiveness Index for Travel and Tourism for 2019 which He ranked it among the safest for tourism along with Finland and Iceland, and other classifications that confirm the absence of terrorism in the Sultanate and the decrease in crime and violence in the Sultanate.
The Sultanate of Oman is considered one of the countries that seek and support the establishment of peace around the world and supports international efforts to resolve conflicts, stop wars and cooperate between countries. These efforts were recognized globally by international awards like The International Peace Prize in 1998 from the United States of America, the Peace Prize from the Russian International Society in the year 2007, “Jawaharlal Nehru Prize for International Understanding” in 2007 and the “Gandhi Peace Prize” in 2019 from the Republic of India.
